The most basic product in every home is the shampoo, though individuals usually do not think about what kind of active ingredients are in it. Most of us don't know that shampoos contain toxic chemicals that can lead to hair loss. What's worse is that the FDA does not control them. This means that producers could put anything they want in it, this consists of poisonous toxins with really high damaging effects to the body.
Using chemicals on your skin may be worse than consuming them. When you consume something, your body can help to break down the contents as well as flush it from your body. Nevertheless, when you place chemicals on your skin, they are soaked up right into your blood stream without any filtering, going straight to your delicate organs.
If you are experiencing unpleasant illness you cannot determine, the problem may be your hair shampoo or various other treatment items. Active chemicals in shampoo could cause many skin related problems. Due to the fact that these are not active ingredients your body can acknowledge, these chemicals cause harm to the immune system, resulting in illnesses. These chemicals in shampoos can close up the pores in the scalp preventing new hair growth.
Harmful Chemicals
A very cheap cleaning agent that is used in many shampoos is known as Salt Lauryl Sulfate. This chemical can stay in the body for up to a week and leaves residue on all major organs. Another problem you will see is that your scalp will be dry and your hair will thin or even fall. A related chemical known as Salt Laureth Sultate is another bad toxin in shampoos that is known to cause kidney problems. This chemical might even be worse because it can stay in the body for an extremely long period.
A chemical that is known to cause reproductive damages is called Parabens. This is used as a preservative in most shampoos. This toxin even when used with a low dosage can do a lot of harm. Another called Polyethylene Glycol is a chemical used in shampoo to create the creamy look. Studies have shown that this chemical may disrupt human growth but is still widely used in shampoos for children.
Locating hair shampoo that does not consist of these harmful chemicals can be challenging. The easiest way to find these shampoos is to search online. Seeing a product classified as 'natural' doesn't suggest it is free of these chemicals. Opt for accredited natural products that have been on the market for long period. Be sure to notice if the shampoo is 100% organic.

Chemicals in your shampoo
What lies beyond your knowledge
Are you happy? Or, do you pursue happiness? If you pursue happiness, you have not caught it. Yes, you could argue that you are happy, and by pursuing other things that you believe will make you happier, you might get more. However, there is a flaw in that argument. Happiness does not fit within a unit of measure. You cannot say that you have a quart of happiness now, and that it will be worth your willingness to work extra hard, deny yourself and your family, plus wait a long time in order to have a gallon of happiness. Don't confuse happiness with the acquisition of possessions.
There is a strong link between happiness and contentment, but the two are different. One practices yoga in order to be fit, and content. One stops to smell the roses in order to appreciate them, and to be content. One listens to calming music in order to relax, and to be content. How do we bridge contentment to happiness? I will give you an example in my life today.
I have a family that includes two children, but they are not children now. My son and my daughter are young adults who no longer live at my home. I was blessed by them, and I loved them so. I still do, but the time for me to play with them, to teach them, and to protect them has passed. I have to seek contentment about this, because I did not want it to pass. My lack of contentment strayed into unhappiness.
My role as a parent now is to be the life saver, to offer my home when it is needed, advice when it is wanted, and help (labor or money) as appropriate. I am not supposed to buy everything for them, solve their problems before they know they have a problem, or steal from them the purity of their discovery of life as it comes to them. Even writing about this is hard from me to do.
So, I seek contentment. I understand now why my father ended every telephone conversation with the words "can I help you?" I understand my own wisdom, by never saying yes to the question. If I said yes, I admitted failure as an adult. To say yes, was to be in dire need of help, and that did not happen to me. But, now, I see my father's side of it. I must be content with myself, believe that I did a good job as a father, know that I will be there if my young people are in dire need. And, I can share what happiness of theirs that they decide that I can have. I only know what I know today. I do not know what lies beyond that knowledge. But, I will strive to be content, and hope that it will be something good.

Texting Sends Penmanship Packing
Gone are the days when people would use pens to put their thoughts to paper. They would write long essays and poetry to give vent to their creative faculties. Pens and books were valued and considered to be precious belongings. Friends and near and dear ones would exchange long letters containing a range of heartfelt emotions. Poetry and literature played a very important role in the lives of educated people. In an essence, those days were the days of penmanship. But all that changed with the advent of interconnected computing devices.
People are no longer putting their pens to paper. Instead, they started texting and their texting doesn't comply either with standard spelling or usage. Now we are passing through an era of not only paperless and penless offices, but also paperless penless homes. The advent of the digital revolution has turned many people into internet addicts.
This does not mean people are not reading. They are certainly reading, but they no longer have the patience to read long texts. Their reading had become shallow and incomplete. Because they are inundated with a profusion of information that is available online and the search engines provide them with an incredibly wide range of choices as far as the sources of information are concerned. And the webzines don't have enough time to explore the innumerable links that appear in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). So we, as a society, have transited from an era of information scarcity to one of information abundance, and we are clueless as to how to deal with the staggering abundance.
These are the days of snippets and sound bites. When we watch television, all we get is a bunch of sound bites. And while we browse the internet we get to see snippets. This ultra-brevity doesn't allow us to get a clear and precise picture of the actual happenings. So the news we get through various websites and television channels is not only ambiguous but also not completely trustworthy.
The emergence of social media has truly revolutionized the way we get to know things and put across our views. On Facebook people started sharing even those things which are hitherto considered to be private. However, irrespective of the things they share, they are invariably frugal with words and profuse with pictures. When it comes to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, people have to stick to the limit of just 140 characters to express themselves. So the Twitterati, in order to put across their thoughts within the specified limits, have developed some novel ways and expressions to put things in perspective. The reasons behind the Twitter's popularity are the ultra-brevity it promotes and the real-time updates it provides. So the social media has also played a key role in promoting texting, which is full of ultra-brevity.
During my school days, our teachers taught us to write an introduction first and conclusion last while writing an essay. However, these days, the web content writers are using inverted pyramid method, following which they are incorporating their most important points in the first hundred words. Because the netizens don't have the patience to read beyond that. Sometimes I feel that had Hamlet been around, he would have texted "2 B r nt 2 B, tht iz d?".
Type 2 Diabetes - Starting Your Day With Breakfast !
Many Type 2 diabetics who are trying to lose weight skip eating breakfast thinking this is the best way to cut their calorie intake. The key to successful weight loss is the total number of calories you take in each day. Skipping breakfast will set you up to feel hungry and overeat at lunch, and then your result will be more negative than positive. Instead of skipping breakfast, why not choose a better breakfast?
Do you believe in a "perfect breakfast?" This isn't a trick question. Whether there is or isn't such a thing is a matter of opinion. But for the sake of this discussion, let's assume the perfect breakfast exists. What would the perfect breakfast include?
Before we talk about food options, it's important to go over what makes a quality breakfast. Firstly, many people consider breakfast to be the most important meal of the day. By eating breakfast, you are breaking the overnight fast, since there's a good chance you don't wake up in the middle of the night to eat. Whether or not breakfast is important isn't for us to say, although we believe it's not necessarily an "essential" meal.
For those who regularly eat breakfast, what makes a quality meal? While eating something tasty or satisfying is surely on your list, you must not forget the nutritional perspective. After all, you should be eating to nourish your body first, and please your taste buds second. If there are three components to a perfect breakfast, they are...
a meal including foods rich in vitamins and minerals,
a meal not too filling; eating too much can upset you or be counterintuitive to your weight loss plans
your breakfast should not aggressively spike your blood sugar.
Often, these components are disregarded. Which means most breakfasts are not quality meals. Eating a bagel on an empty stomach is detrimental to your blood sugar, so it shouldn't be part of your meal. Even worse are muffins or butter biscuits, which also contain a high dose of calories.
Instead, the perfect breakfast should include...
fruits,
Greek or plain yogurt,
one slice of whole-wheat bagel, with a
moderate amount of peanut butter for its healthy fats.
Eggs are also a great breakfast option. The problem with them, however, is they are often accompanied by bacon, sausages, or bread. It's fine to have a "complete" breakfast on occasion, but it's likely an issue if you are eating filling meals consistently first thing in the morning. If you are trying to lose weight or treat blood sugar matters related to Type 2 diabetes, it's crucial to moderate your portions.
With that said, if you have your second meal much later in your day with no snacking beforehand, you can be more flexible with your breakfast choices. It's irrelevant whether or not the "perfect breakfast" is a real thing. But you should make sure what you do eat in the morning is conducive to stable blood sugar and good health.
Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

Protest Injustice With Singing, Not Shooting
The fatal shootings of police officers in Texas last week are another tragic indication of the animosity between law enforcement and part of the public sector in major cities across the United States. While there has always been some resentment toward members of our police force, never did it escalate to the point of multiple murders.
Fifty years ago, during the anti-Vietnam War protests and Civil Rights activism, policemen often suffered chastisement and threats from groups of citizens. Thankfully, the resentment was primarily limited to writing songs about the officers.
If only our society would return to that form of criticism rather than the violence now so prevalent, we might find that the songs would be more effective than the bloodshed in bringing about change.
Here are examples of some of the classic hits that featured corrupt members of law enforcement.
Officer Ray by Hoyt Axton
The influential folk songwriter had several huge hits for other artists, such as the Three Dog Night and the Kingston Trio, but he himself made the definitive version of this tale about the man wearing "Badge 130 LAPD."
High Sheriff of Hazzard by Tom Paxton
"With his hands in our pockets he'll take what he can" Paxton says of the unnamed lawman on the Ramblin' Boy album, who "is a mine owner too, you know which side he's on."
The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia by Vicky Lawrence
A Southern sheriff in this tragic chart-topper arrests the wrong man for murder, as the man's sister confesses to the crime at the end of the song after he has been hanged.
Hazzard, Kentucky by Phil Ochs
Sheriff Combs is the corrupt officer in this track from the folk legend's Broadside Tapes album, a guy who "runs the law and also runs the mines."
Hurricane by Bob Dylan
The policemen in this powerful ballad from the
Desire album, which eventually was turned into a motion picture, coerce Arthur Dexter Bradley and his friend Bello into framing middleweight champ Ruben Patterson for murder.
Homeless Brother by Don McLean
The man who became immortal because of his "American Pie" created this poignant title track, which ends with the image of police brutality where "The night stick cracks with crazy rage."
Movin' Out by Billy Joel
The law enforcement member in verse two of this hit from The Stranger leads a double life, as evidenced by the line "Sergeant O'Leary is walking the beat, but at night he becomes the bar tender."
One Fast Way To Train Great Work Ethic To Millennials ( Hospitality / F & B Industry)
Because we grew up with at least one parent who worked tirelessly on the land or loyally for one company from early in the morning until late at night for years, that is our experience of hard work and a great work ethic. "Nose to the grind-stone" and "up-hill both ways in the snow" are phrases that we regularly heard and had a crisp mental image of. Mothers who shaped our reality and values would regularly remind us of how hard our fathers worked for us each and every day, how hard he worked for each of our toys and for every meal on the table every night.
Well, fast forward twenty years and twenty million divorces later and no one is home developing their children's respect for authority or at home putting the fear of god into the ones who don't take care of their belongings. No one ever hears, "Wait until your father gets home!" because let's face it no one is home. Most of America is now a two household or two income family trying to make ends meet, in competition with the Jones's or their ex to try to make time with them more pleasant for their children than their time with their ex.
Add to that the millennial's exposure to job insecurity, massive social media over-night successes and you have yourself a recipe for a bad hire every time you need to fill your less than glamorous position. Because any which way you slice it, millennials are not being raised to think like we think so here is how to outsmart them:
If millennials are raised only to think about themselves then why not train from the, "What's in it for me?" point of view. What is in it for them if they... come to work dressed and ready, what is in it for them if they "get off script" and actually engage with customers. What's in it for them when they discover why a customer chose to come to your restaurant today. How they benefit personally when they can ask customers if they had ever been to the restaurant before, what their favorite dish or table is and how these conversations benefit them personally, NOT the restaurant. When millennials hear that they could be building a huge list of fans now for use later, that is a language they understand. When they hear that fans are "psychologically willing to wait longer and complain less" this is a concept any waiter of any age will appreciate. If you keep more of your training / coaching emphasis on your employee's personal benefits and less on the prospect of more money, you will win the trust, respect and hard work of even the youngest and "greenest" of your employees. When they believe that you have "their back" in the big picture and not just that of the business you will start to see great employee work ethic and less employee turnover.
Every employee knows that when you say more sales = bigger tips your goal is more profits for the business and they may night be 100% on-board with using their sweat equity for your gain but tell them that the customers are coming one way or the other it doesn't matter to you either way and that you have ways to turn each customer into their own personal fan who will gladly wait longer for food, leave great tips and glowing reviews, bring Christmas cards filled with cash, give them more time, energy and community than they could ever imagine... these are the things millennials are inspired by and will happily work for. Otherwise you are "working up-hill both ways in the snow" trying to train something that is actually imperceptible to an entire generation of employees that you actually need.
Be amazing! I teach your staff to create amazing customer experiences and an infinite amount of repeat customers and sales in just 4 hours + make you a hero in their eyes while I do it!
I teach your restaurant or hotel staff how to love their jobs and their bosses and I teach the entire program in your restaurant / hotel in 4 - 6 hours for just $1,000.00. Choose a full 1 day seminar or break up the lessons, lectures and exercises over a weekly period.
Call 1-646-462-0384 to schedule the most exciting four hours your employees will ever experience and show them the hundreds of dollars they are leaving on the table every shift
